I’ve had Madeline on California Natural for most of her 18 months because it was the only kibble that came in actual “large” bites, forcing her to learn how to chew on her food at least some of the time. California Natural is also great for producing firm stool.

Madeline has always been on the itchy side, & for the last several months was scratching so often that she developed chronic scabs on the top & sides of her head. I also noticed that Boomer was pretty itchy.

Recently both of them have gotten good at chewing their food if I crouch there & coach. Meh, it’s something. I decided we could try out normal sized kibble.

I initially bought a bag of Chicken Instinct because that was all the store had at the time, but read that some dogs have allergies to chicken. We are now on our 2nd bag of Duck Instinct & both dogs rarely scratch. Madeline’s scabs are almost all gone.

I do notice some really, really nasty farts. But I can live with that.

Just wondering if anyone else’s dogs sleepwalk.

A few minutes ago Boomer (15-wk-old AB) leapt up from his sleep barking & growling & chased something down the hallway, insisted I let him into the living room where he chased it all the way to the dining room. And then he turned around & looked at me in confusion. It was about 4am; nothing going on except me checking Facebook.

I know it sounds like a ghost & there have been a fair amount of odd occurrences here, but I’d rather think it was sleepwalking.

Wow, what an experience it was to witness our first litter. Last night Maya gave birth to (5) healthy American Bulldog pups. We have waited patiently over the last 2 years to find Gunner a suitable mate, and wouldn’t be happier with this pairing.

There were no birth/labor complications and all pups were delivered naturally over a 7hr period. See more pics here: Gunner x Maya
