Just wondering if anyone else’s dogs sleepwalk.

A few minutes ago Boomer (15-wk-old AB) leapt up from his sleep barking & growling & chased something down the hallway, insisted I let him into the living room where he chased it all the way to the dining room. And then he turned around & looked at me in confusion. It was about 4am; nothing going on except me checking Facebook.

I know it sounds like a ghost & there have been a fair amount of odd occurrences here, but I’d rather think it was sleepwalking.

Well decided to up the ante on my wireless router so I snatched up a new Netgear dual band wireless router. I got home, hooked it up nice and simple and started browsing at a much faster rate than my old antiquated wireless router had been able to. Then I read This Review and realized I overpaid for a seemingly lackluster product. I have not tried connecting more than one computer at a time, but the thought of having an intermittent signal when doing so less than appealing. So I got online and found THIS ONE for the same price and picked it up. I guess I’ll return the other one when the new new one comes in…..

I did test the one I got today at 19.30mbs/.98mbs though. Hope the new one is at least as fast.

This is probably not the most effective forum to post about my cat problems. lol

My 16-yr-old coon mix, Puppy (I know… it gets confusing), recently got some kind of eye infection & within a couple of weeks lost almost all the hair on his face, his front paws, the insides of his front legs & even areas of his belly. I took him to the vet, who took a fungus culture, but apparently these things take a long time & I have not received any wisdom yet.

We did bloodwork & it was “excellent.” He’s now a third of what he weighed in his prime but that’s been a slow development.

I keep both of my cats confined to my “wing;” they are not allowed in the rest of the house. He really liked my grandmother & since her passing in September he keeps “escaping” & wandering the rest of the house, perhaps looking for her. With this recent ailment he has taken to “hiding” in odd places - behind the toilet, between 2 shelves on the floor, under the bed.

My other cat, Honeygirl, is 17 & I was concerned about her weight loss over the last few years. She often vomited right after eating, apparently from eating too fast. Since Puppy got sick, she’s suddenly become well. She’s almost back to the size she was in her prime & she hasn’t vomited. Puppy was always bigger than her, & being part coon, a lot stronger. His claws are frightening. He always bullied her & now I think he’s getting payback or something. The last time I listened to him howl I got this odd feeling he was asking for deliverance.

So tonight I set Puppy up in the washroom & workroom, which are just beyond my “wing,” & we are separated only by a trellis-type door. There’s food & water, his bed & his carrier & a makeshift litterbox. He seems very happy. I haven’t heard a peep from him. Last time I checked he was just exploring. Being as vocal as he is, I don’t think he’d hesitate to complain if he wanted something.

I have been considering having our vet give him The Shot, because he just seems to be winding down from this life & the hiding causes me to worry that he is suffering. Perhaps when the vet gets back to me about this hair loss I’ll have a better idea of what to do.

I think I’m just confused that he would want to be alone & I’m worried that I am misinterpreting his behavior. I have no experience with elderly cats. Bleh. I guess I’ll go check on him again.
