The Fila Brasileiro

I’ve always been a fan of bully breeds. Since I was just a kid of 6 years old, I was fascinated by the strength, appearance, and mystique surrounding large breed dogs. Whenever my dad would bring out his “Fighting Dogs” book, I would thumb through it in wonder and amazement while I read things far beyond my level of comprehension (at the time!) and gazing at the images of the magnificent beasts pictured throughout. As I got older, I continued to feed my interests in large breed dogs (prominently Akita’s) and continued to learn more about the likes of the Neo Mastiff, American Bulldog, and Presa Canario. However it wasn’t until a couple of weeks ago that I learned of the existence of the Fila Brasileiro or Brazilian Mastiff. Upon further inspection I found quite a bit of information online.
